H & M Hennes & Mauritz AB Press Release:

This year's top designer collaboration at H&M is all about glamour and showing off the best of yourself, day and night. Latin fashion icon Roberto Cavalli is many fashionistas' dream designer and a favourite of the stars with his signature style: extravagant, perfectly-flattering and sensual in rock glamour. From 8th November, a collection featuring some of Cavalli's favourite pieces for women and men will be available in approximately 200 selected H&M stores worldwide.

The collection is a complete Roberto Cavalli wardrobe for day and night with underwear and accessories to match. Great leather jackets, perfect tailored suits and separates, sexy evening numbers, fancy tops, T-shirts and fabulous jeans are some of the must-have Roberto Cavalli staples. For women, animal prints and lurex are important whilst for men, it's more discreet black, midnight blue, brown and white.

Accessories range from jewellery to belts and shoes. 'Fashion is an expression of freedom. This collaboration with H&M allows me to give a gift to the young audience that loves what I do, and identifies with my creativity, but might not be able to own a Roberto Cavalli piece.

The collection I have designed for H&M contains all the elements of my signature Cavalli style, and is infused with glamour and joy', explains Roberto Cavalli. Leopard and zebra is a significant theme in the women's collection, and features on dresses, tops, coats and lingerie. A tailored jacket is teamed with slim slacks or shorts. A leather jacket is decorated with fringes and a fake-fur jacket has eyelets and studs.

An elegant trench coat has piping and metallic studs. A heavily embellished jacket adds instant glamour to tight fitting or wide leg jeans. A leopard-print or black corset top look dazzling on bare skin for evening and there are several blouses with animal prints, ruffles and bows. Knitwear consists of a leopard-print or black oversized cardigan and a tank mini dress with ruffles. For evening or cocktail wear: a sequined mini dress, a chiffon baby doll dress in zebra print or leopard print, a long metallic pleated halter dress and a long animal print dress. Lingerie includes a leopard-print push-up- and a soft triangle bra, a string and a hot pant, camisole and knickers.

To complete the look there are accessories such as bone and pearl pendants, a golden cuff bracelet and a ring, a belt and a wallet as well as gold sandals and black satin Mary Jane shoes.Menswear by 'Roberto Cavalli at H&M' is sharply tailored and masculine. There's a brown leather jacket, and a midnight blue blazer teamed with slim fit trousers or jeans in blue, black or leopard print. A waist coat or an elegant black tuxedo, a perfect trench coat and a shawl-collared cardigan.

Shirts are black or white and T-shirts are long- or short sleeved with silk front or side panels. Underwear includes both jersey and woven boxer shorts. Accessories include a scarf, a slim tie, a classic belt, shoes and boots. There is also an extensive range of jewellery including a bracelet, cufflinks, necklaces, a pin and a key holder.'It's a sheer joy to be able to offer Roberto Cavalli's best pieces to our customers. We have admired his unique and exquisite craftsmanship for years, and just love his positive outlook on fashion.

These pieces are made to feel fabulous and have fun in, and must be some of the holiday season's ultimate buys,'says H&M’s head of design Margareta van den Bosch. The 'Roberto Cavalli at H&M' collection will be marketed in the daily and monthly press and on billboards in an ad campaign shot by Terry Richardson.

A commercial directed by Johan Renck will be shown on TV and at cinemas. The collection will also be marketed via H&M's most important channel – H&M stores – and on H&M's website: www.hm.com, where there will also be a blog about the collaboration.
